Destiny 2 players unhappy with changes to energy spheres

Destiny 2 players are unhappy with recent changes to the current sandbox involving energy orbs. Energy Spheres allow Destiny 2 players to gain super energy and activate certain armor module perks, but some longtime community members believe Bungie has made harmful changes to these valuable spheres. Players can prepare enough Destiny 2 Silver in the game.

Destiny 2's Lightfall expansion pack may introduce a "Dark Coast" subclass, but the energy spheres still retain their original function of providing super energy to the Guardians. Armor modules may increase the chance to create energy spheres with elemental weapons and grenade kills, reduce the ability cooldown when retrieving the sphere, and grant armor recharge under special conditions. Guardian loads that generate large amounts of energy spheres are helpful in vanguard and seasonal campaign sessions. However, Destiny 2 players were unhappy with the changes to energy spheres and game physics this season.

Destiny 2 player AdLate8669 feels that recent changes to the energy orbs have negatively impacted his behavior in the sandbox, causing the orbs to roll out of the player's reach when performing in-game activities. Prior to Abyssal Season, Energy Spheres would typically remain on the ground after being successfully generated through super, ability, or weapon hits. After making the change, players began to notice that energy spheres would roll or roll on sloped surfaces, or even fall off the map during certain activities. As a result, AdLate8669 and other players of Destiny 2 were frustrated with the change to energy orbs and wanted Bungie to change its decision.

Several Destiny 2 players in the community believe that the collision box for the Energy Sphere has changed due to the newly updated "Shoot the Loot" weapon feature. This special feature allows Destiny 2 players to pick up energy orbs or ammo bricks after direct fire. Initially, the "Shoot the Loot" feature only applied to ammo bricks, but Bungie updated the feature to include energy orbs during the Deep Season and beyond.

The recent changes to the Energy Sphere may be annoying to some players, but Bungie may make adjustments based on feedback gathered during the Deep Season. Energy orbs are an important part of Destiny 2's gameplay, so if fans continue to voice their concerns, another change could be on the horizon in the near future.

Bungie is expected to discuss upcoming changes to Destiny 2 as well as the Final Form expansion pack at a dedicated showcase on August 22. In just over a month, fans will learn more about the return of Cayde-6 in the new Destiny 2 expansion pack, which is currently in development. Launch is planned for 2024.
